Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has announced a state of calamity - defined by circumstances including numerous deaths, extensive property destruction, and disruption to means of livelihoods and the normal way of life for people in the affected areas.
The typhoon, called in the region Tino, tore through the densely inhabited island of Cebu, flooding complete communities and carrying vehicles down roads.
Numerous individuals of people have been evacuated, others are resting in designated safe zones.
